On opening day at World Cyber Games 2008 (Cologne, Germany) there were no matches scheduled for the Serious players, which gave them a nice chance to get into the WCG spirit. The guys spectated other matches, did some work for our sponsor Razer and Kevin 'RotterdaM' van der Kooi was the shoutcaster for the Warcraft III matches played on the main stage.

Today the real action starts though and all focus will be on getting the best possible results. All three players anxiously look to survive their group to make it into the top 16. For Yaraslau 'NightW0lf' Kavetski and Hamish 'Kowi' Parker this seems a possibility. Both players are drawn into Group F with as main opponent Russian nightelf player Nicker.

For RotterdaM things are more complicated in Group H. Since the draw of the first round groups has caused some imbalance, RotterdaM will face three very strong opponents in XlorD, Lucifron and Korean orc player FoCuS. The other two players in the group are also absolutely no walk overs, don't be surprised to see KiWiKaKi or MeS make an upset or two.

All matches will start at 12.00 CET. At 16.00 CET RotterdaM will play his groupmatch versus FoCuS on the main stage. This match will be streamed live on ESL TV and the official WCG stream.
